Art Explorations I – Saturday Studios  – Student Work Gallery Wall

Fall 23'--Various Sizes--Watercolor, Gelli Plate Printing, Markers

This is a photo of my students’ final products on display in the Arnheim Gallery at the Saturday Studios Open House. The projects include landscape lanterns, gelli plate printing with found objects, and original watercolor illustrations based on student interest. I developed each of these lesson plans with the intention of providing students experience with a variety of mediums and the opportunity to make artistic choices while still demonstrating their understanding of the concepts and skills.

Art Explorations I – Saturday Studios  – Student Designed Clay Creatures

Fall 23'--Various Sizes–Air-Dry Clay

This is a photo of my students’ final products on display in the Arnheim Gallery at the Saturday Studios Open House. I designed a lesson that had the students make creatures out of air-dry clay. Prior to working with the clay, I gave the students a demonstration on how to use the clay and tools to create texture, shape, and features.

Art Explorations I – Saturday Studios  – Student Designed Zines

Fall 23'--Various Sizes–Paper, Pencils, & Markers

This is a photo of my students’ final products on display in the Arnheim Gallery at the Saturday Studios Open House. I designed a lesson that provided students with a prompt to develop zines based on a topic of their choice/interest. Prior to the students starting their work, I gave the students a demonstration on how to cut and fold one larger piece of mixed media paper into a small zine. I also took the students to the MassArt library to review zines designed by MassArt students or other artists who have donated their works to the library.
