Lyle Lyle Reimagined

Fall 22'-- 25" x 22" – Watercolor & Ink

I created this piece in my Junior year for Advanced Drawing Projects. This piece is based on original characters from Bernard Waber’s book The House on East 88th Street. I reimagined these characters in a modern, semi-realistic style. I paid homage to the original Lyle Lyle Crocodile character by including a painting in the background that depicts him in the original style.

Little Shop

Fall 22'-- 18" x 24" – Graphite Pencil

I created this piece for my Advanced Drawing Projects class. The prompt was “All the World's a Stage.” I chose to create an original piece based on the broadway musical Little Shop of Horrors. I used graphite pencil for multiple reasons. Graphite pencil is a great tool to use various values to convey depth and emotion. Additionally, this had been a medium that I was not as well-versed in. As such, I wanted to challenge myself by completing a large form piece utilizing only graphite pencil. I studied many 2D stills from various theatrical productions of this show in an effort to develop a composition that conveyed the intensity and emotion of the show.

TOP Concert Poster

Spring 23'--8.5" x 11"--Digital Illustration

Using Procreate and Illustrator, I created a fictitious concert poster for the band Twenty One Pilots I used the skeleton image as the band tends to use similar images in a variety of their merchandise and promotional materials. I incorporated an abundance of dark imagery contrasted with a lighter color palette to represent the often dark themed music of the band. Additionally, I tried to present a balance of written word and visual images.

Memories

Influenced by childhood memories, I used Procreate to Illustrate photos of me and my brother from different years of our lives. I designed this work in an old school polaroid format in an effort to convey a bit of nostalgia and layered the photos as if they were scattered on a table after someone had looked through them.

Nightmare Toys
