You Beneath the Grime

Spring 24'--8" x 10"--Linoleum, carving tools,ink, sponge, illustration board

Creating a stylized take on an anatomical heart I added an eye in the center representing my actual self and feelings that were lost and buried under the weight of the numbness that took over me during a past grieving process. Starting with the heart on the left I overlapped multiple prints on top of each other each time deciding not to re ink purposefully as a way to represent how eventually the numbness fizzled out of myself.
